Estate agency Jackson-Stops has vowed to open another 20 branches during the next two years as it accelerates growth plans.

Founded in 1910 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, the firm has 26 members and 42 branches, and prides itself on its expertise in the countryside and waterside homes markets.

Member agents can invest in and develop their own business under the Jackson-Stops brand, with each business owner responsible for a geographical area and sitting on the board of directors.

estate agencyChairman Nick Leeming says the next two years will prove to be critical for the brand.

“Our experience tells us that many individuals at a senior management level in large national agencies find they are restricted by a glass ceiling, while independent agents find they suffer from a lack of resource, support and advice from a wider network,” explains Leeming.

“Our group structure provides members with the best of both worlds – the independence to make your own decisions and drive your own strategy, with the centralised resources, support and, crucially, brand visibility of an established national estate agency.”

New members can join either by opening in a new area, by the outright purchase of an area for a new regional business or group of offices, licensing within an existing area, or by buying an existing business in whole or part.

Members then have the benefit of operating under a nationally recognised brand, and get help with marketing, PR, compliance, strategy and development, IT, finance, and legal support. Jackson-Stops reaches at least 30 million people each month through online exposure and print advertising.
