Viewber unlocks challenge of out-of-hours keys for property viewings
Outsourced viewing firm says it has signed a deal with KeyNest to enable 'viewbers' to access keys outside office hours.
Outsourced viewings firm Viewber is to start using the a key holding service called KeyNest, enabling its customers and staff to more easily offer out-of-hours viewings.
KeyNest has a network of 200 key holding sites around the UK, which solves one of the main challenges for Viewber – how to manage access to keys for its staff, particularly when viewings are out of hours and an agent’s office may not be open or staffed.
It also solves another problem; many vendors or landlords don’t want to have a key-safe box fitted outside their home, which is one way Viewber has attempted to manage keys until now.
KeyNest started up primarily as a key exchange service for Airbnb landlords, letting agents and corporate lets and says its service is used every two minutes in the UK.
The Barnet, North London-based company uses RFID tags embedded into its key fobs to help agents monitor and manage where and by whom keys are held.
“We are delighted to officially open up our key holding service to Viewber customers,” says KeyNest co-founder Mark Figueras (pictured, above).
“Providing access for your Viewber has never been easier.”
KeyNest has the backing of London letting giant Life Residential which, as well as investing in the firm, uses its service.
“We have been watching KeyNest’s progress and first talked over 12 months ago,” says Viewber co-founder Ed Mead (pictured, right).
“With both businesses now established and the synergies obvious, we look forward to making our customer’s key management and viewings/inspections easier and even more secure.”
