Purplebricks founders’ Boomin project is due to launch in six weeks

Many business leaders and large agency groupings have been shown the platform and say it is well funded and will take on the portals.

Multiple sources have confirmed to The Negotiator that the Bruce brothers’ Boomin project will launch in October as it continues to recruit senior tech experts and management.

It is also now an open secret within the industry that Boomin is to be a portal in everything but name and several senior estate agency bosses have confirmed off the record that the project is better funded and staffed than many of the other ‘challenger portals’.

And yesterday the Say No To Rightmove (SNTR) campaign revealed that it is keen on the platform after being shown a demo of its capabilities, and had set aside their reservations about the Bruce brothers’ reputation within the industry.

Additional income

“It appears they are wedded to a concept that is focused on Boomin being the professional full service estate agent’s friend, delivering a raft of technology that will create new transactions and offer agents additional income,” the SNTR group say.

“Thus far, we are also aware that they have had engagement with a number of the country’s leading agents and have had an overwhelmingly positive response.

“It is, however, for the Bruces to fully unveil their project and convince the industry of their sincerity. From what we have seen and the people we have met, it would appear they have genuine intentions to make a positive difference.”

It is also clear that most senior leaders within the industry have been shown a ‘sneak peek’ of the portal and been asked to sign Non-Disclosure agreements.

Several have told The Negotiator that they are keen to back the initiative after seeing its capabilities, as it ‘stands the best chance of taking on Rightmove and Zoopla’ given the Bruce brothers industry experience and contacts.
