Mentorship and mental health foundation Agents Together marks milestone
A year after it was established the organisations says it has helped over 300 agents get through the pandemic.
Agents Together, the estate agency foundation set up by Michael Bruce and led by CEO Sarah Edmundson, is marking its one year anniversary.
The organisation, which was established in early June 2020 a few weeks after the property market re-opened following a prolonged shut-down during which many agents had feared for their jobs or lost them, and many agencies feared going to the wall.
Despite some scepticism among some agents about its motives, Agents Together has nevertheless arranged and still manages some 310 mentorships after a year up and running, all made possible by its industry network of 200 volunteers.
This includes its founding team who are Michael Bruce, Kenny Bruce (pictured, left), Michael Day (pictured above), Samantha Jones, Stephen Brown, Chris Watkin (pictured above) and James Kydd.
In total this equates to at least 7,250 hours of mentoring that has taken place over the course of the last year, coordinated by the foundation’s Relationship Manager Sam Offley, who joined Agents Together in July last year.
As well as offering mentorship to agents and business owners, the foundation’s volunteers also work hard to raise awareness about workplace wellbeing.
In January Agents Together reported that 62% of agents report problems but only 16% says their employer has any help on offer.
The industry is responding, both via Agents Together and via other initiatives. As The Negotiator reported in March, London agency James Pendleton brought in an NLP life coach to help stressed staff deal with working from home.
