Clients still want to visit a high street branch, claims expanding regional agency

Director and co-founder of East Midlands firm Results says clients may start with Rightmove, but still end up in his firm's offices.

The owner of an expanding estate agency in the East Midlands has backed the high street model, saying people still want to pop in for that personal touch as well as looking for properties online.

His comments follow similar comments by several high-profile industry figures who have countered the commonly-held industry view that the high street is doomed and that the pandemic has accelerated its demise.

This included Dexters boss Jeff Doble who earlier this year told The Negotiator that online agents who claim to offer the same service as their traditional counterparts were peddling ‘a deceit’, while Connells has consistently said that it was fully committed to the high street following its brief dalliance with Hatched.co.uk.

These latest comments have been made by expanding regional estate agency Results based in Rothwell, which last month opened a new branch near Desborough.

Both are sizeable towns between Market Harborough and Kettering.

Management buyout

Results is run by experienced local estate agent Richard Panter and business partner and former warehousing executive Anita Rothwell who recently set the company on a new path after buying the firm from its original owner.

“When searching for a property, Rightmove is usually the first port of call, although customers like the option to visit the office for that personal friendly service,” says Panter.

“We also have the privilege of working with some fantastic third-party suppliers who play a huge part in our success. From IT, professional photographer, to the local tradesmen.”
