Zoopla says it won’t modify fees reduction deal…yet
Portal says it wants to remind agents that they can still get free fees until the end of September and until the end of January if they leave Rightmove.
No.2 portal Zoopla says it won’t extend its offer to agents who commit to leave Rightmove despite several agents contacting The Negotiator to say that this was the case.
Zoopla originally gave agents five months’ free listings from the 1st May with a further four months offered on top if they committed to leave Rightmove.
After these free periods, agents must then commit to staying with Zoopla for at least a year.
But now several agents had been in touch to say that Zoopla has told them that the nine-month ‘leave Rightmove’ deal could start at anytime and won’t be back-dated to the beginning of May when Zoopla’s deals were first introduced.
Not back-dated
This includes one London agent who told The Negotiator that he had been offered the deal personally by Zoopla’s commercial chief Andy Marshall (pictured, above), but that he now believes they were talking about the same Zoopla deal as before but from different perspectives.
The Negotiator asked Zoopla for clarification about what’s going on and it confirmed for the moment there is no change to its Coronavirus fee reduction offers.
Andy Marshall, Chief Commercial Office, Zoopla, told The Negotiator: “We’re absolutely committed to helping our agent partners through this time and the response we’ve had has been overwhelmingly positive with over 90% now signed up to long-term partnerships with Zoopla. We continue to sign up more agents and look forward to working with them as they grow their businesses.”
