Estate agency calls on YOU to copy its ‘local’ fundraising drive

Matt Nicol’s Community Fund has raised over £50,000 to date and he wants other estate agents to copy the firm’s efforts and help their own communities.

A Worcestershire estate agency boss has called on fellow agents to join with them and fund raise with a ‘local communities’ focus.

Nicol & Co., which has offices in Droitwich, Worcester and Malvern, set up the firm’s Community Fund during the Covid pandemic in 2021 with the pledge that for every property sold they would donate £100 to the school or local community organisation of the seller’s choice. The initiative raised £12,000 in its first year and to date has raised over £50,000.

EXTREMELY FORTUNATE

Matt Nicol (main picture), Founder and Managing Director of Nicol & Co., says: “We are extremely fortunate to live and work in a beautiful part of the country but as with every area across the UK, many community initiatives in Worcestershire are struggling for funding and support.

“I have had chats with some agents who recognise the work we are doing but are reluctant to ‘copy’ us.

“But my message across the industry is – please copy our Community Fund as much as you like! The cost-of-living issues have not gone away, Christmas is almost upon us and as we move into 2024 it is just as important to keep supporting our local communities.”

ENHANCE RELATIONSHIPS

And he adds: “We would be delighted if someone else wants to pick up on the work we do and can build on it and enhance their relationships with their local communities too. Join with us, build your own Community Fund, and everyone’s a winner!”

The Neg revealed in June how Nicol & Co. had launched  the ‘Big Worcestershire Garage Sale’ that saw 80 households across the county simultaneously decluttering and selling unwanted items.

The agency has also launched a social media video campaign named ‘Why Worcester’ with editions highlighting ‘Why Droitwich’ and ‘Why Malvern’.

The campaign shines a spotlight on local businesses, inviting their founders to share their stories and express their connection to their towns and communities.
